Sports Day
Annual Sports Day of Paavai Institutions for the academic year 2010-2011 was celebrated on 24.02.2011. Ms. Shiny Wilson, Padma Shree & Arjun Awardee Best Sports Woman in Athletics, was the chief guest.
Shri.CA.N.V.Natarajan, Chairman, Paavai Institutions presided over the function and in his presidential address, he said that all the students must become the achievers by admiring the achievers. The reason for inviting the chief guest is that all the students should admire and try to become achievers. In the future, Paavai will produce Olympic players and Olympic medalists for our country.
The Chief Guest in her key-note address said "I had only sports in my mind and that attitude made me to be an achiever. I practiced every day both in the morning and evening, I ran four hours every morning and evening and covered twenty kilometers per day. Being engineering students you may not practice for a long time, but practice at least for an hour." And also she congratulated all the winners and consoled the losers by saying that they can do better next time.
The special address was delivered by Smt.Mangai Natarajan, Correspondent, Paavai Institution. In the special address, she said "for a few minutes I could not even breath when the achievement list of our chief guest was read out. If you all have passion towards a desire that will take you to the top and fulfil all your requirements."
A special prize of gold coin was given to the University level winner Ms. R. Vasanthi. And many prizes and certificates were distributed to the winners of the different competitions. Paavai Engineering College took the overall championship among Engineering Colleges. Pavai Varam Polytechnic College bagged the overall championship for Polytechnic colleges. Pavai Arts and Science College grabbed the overall Championship among Arts and Science, Paavai College of Education and Paavai Teacher Training Institute.
Shri.T.R.Manisekaran, Vice Chairman, Shri.T.R.Palanivel, Secretary, Dr.M.Ramakrishnan, Treasurer, Shri N.Palanivel, Joint Secretary, Mr.K.Senthil, Director (Admissions), Prof.K.K.Ramasamy, Director (Administration), Mr.S.Srinivasan, Director (Placement &Training), Deans and Principals, COE's, Professors and Students of various Paavai Institutions were present.
