Women's Day Celebration
Special Lecture on 'Wake up with Valour, Oh Women!'
Women's Day celebration was held on 08.03.13 at Ananda Arangam A/c Auditorium. A special lecture was delivered on the topic "Veeru kondu eluvaai penne" by Smt. SumathiSri, Maanila Illakkiya Ani Thalaivar, Gandhiya Makkal Iyakkam. The Chairman of Paavai Institutions, Shri CA N.V. Natarajan presided over the function.
The Chief guest urged the students to improve self-confidence. She spoke about Kiran Bedi, Muthulakshmi Reddy and Thillai Adi Ammal who had displayed presence of mind in tackling any crisis. She praised those women who stood for the welfare of the voiceless and the defenceless women. The Chief guest stated that women are not the weaker sex and on no account they should make themselves vulnerable to cheap popularity, wordly things and deceitful words. For a woman self-dignity is more important and every woman should concentrate on studies and during the period of study, they should not get tempted to be carried away by fleeting emotions. A cheerful disposition and a brave heart are the assets of a woman. And women should bring glory to themselves, to the institutions, to the society and to the nation.
Earlier, the program started on a divine note with the prayer song. Ms.S.Pradeepa, First Year B.E - CSE, Paavai Engineering College welcomed the gathering. Miss Vasanthra, Final year Polytechnic student introduced the Chief Guest. Ms.P.Sumithra, First Year B.E - ECE, Paavai Engineering College, proposed the vote of thanks. The program concluded with the National Anthem.
