The remarkable function of Guru Vanakkam was held in the forenoon of 9.9.2011 in Anandh Arangam, Paavai Campus. Shri CA.N.V. Natarajan, the Chairman, Paavai Institutions, presided over the function and the function started with the lighting of Kuthuvilkku by the Correspondent Smt. Mangai Natarajan. A special prayer song was sung by the students of Paavai Institutions.
The Chairman delivered his presidential address. In his speech, he said that Paavai has some principle, culture and function which play a vital role. And Guru Vanakkam is one of the important functions which is a token of love shown by the students towards the teachers. The function is memorable one in the life of every student. We have been taught in our early age that all should respect our elders. The significance of the function is showing respect to our Gurus who dispel darkness and ignorance around us and in us. Teachers give light to the students' life. They sacrifice their life, soul for the upliftment of the students by imparting knowledge, career, life and culture. All the countries in the world are now appreciating the efforts shown by their teachers to light the lamp of wisdom. Students greet and congratulate their teachers.
The highlight of the day is, a special padha pooja was conducted to honour the techers, during which the Chairman invited the teachers to shower the blessings on the students of various discipline of Paavai Institutions to give a long and healthy life. The chairman stressed that "If the teacher is molded properly then the society will also be molded properly". The Chairman advised the students to pay their respects to their teachers. It was his firm conviction that knowledge, happiness and peace will prevail if teachers and students interact with each other with a spirit of oneness.
Special lunch was being provided to all the teachers.
